Artist Statement

My creative works depict ancient Thai arts and cultures. The agricultural community’s peaceful way of life has provided inspiration for me over the years. Through collected wisdom of many centuries, Thai villagers have developed skills in tool making. These tools helped them lead an easier life.

The creation of these tools depends largely upon carpentry skills. Wood cut in various shapes and sizes are used as raw materials. Many wooden devices are cleverly contrived for particular purposes. Most of them operate by harnessing wind, water and other forces of Nature as sources of energy. Such achievement indicates that man has been living in perfect harmony with the universe.
