Artist statement

My most recent work is based on traditional Thai blue and white domestic ware and explores my concerns about the modern world’s complex mixture of materialism, cross cultural mingling, Buddhist philosophy and disposable culture.

I also known for my mythical monster teapots which were inspired by my memories of the Hobart waterfront and my experiences snorkelling in Tasmania, Queensland and Thailand. I combine the shapes, colours and textures of marine life with elements of my Thai cultural heritage to create the bizarre creatures.
